There is always something going on at the Great Plains Nature Center!

Got an idea for something you would like us to offer?  Just let us know!

Family programs are offered on a regular basis throughout the year.
Classes studying any wildlife or outdoor topic will find the GPNC is a great place to go for a school field trip.
Our programs for Cub Scouts help them with natural history badges and advancement requirements.
The GPNC is the regular meeting place for several outdoor and environmental organizations.

Summer Teacher Workshops are available.
The Natural History Series is oriented towards adults.

To schedule a school field trip ; please read the instructions on that page. 

We begin accepting reservations in mid-August for the following school year.

To register for a program please read the instructions below,
then print the registration form, fill it out and send it in along with your check. 

You may register in person or through the mail. 
We do not accept registrations over the phone or off the web.

RESERVATION INFORMATION

For those programs requiring Registration:

  1. Full payment must accompany registration form.
    Make check payable to:  Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center

  2. Mail to: 
    PROGRAMS, GREAT PLAINS NATURE CENTER
    6232 E. 29TH STREET N.
    WICHITA, KS 67220-2200

  3. Registration will close when class/program is full or three days prior to program.

  4. All programs have a minimum and maximum size limit.  A program may be cancelled if minimum is not met.

  5. PLEASE use a separate form for each participant.

  6. Once registration has been received and processed, you will receive:
    1) a confirmation/receipt
    2) program information
    3) balance due notice (if applicable)
    4) health form (for summer youth programs)

  7. All programs are held at the Nature Center unless otherwise noted.
